LA Metro has a transit trip planner on their webpage (below) where you can put in origin and destination addresses and points of interest, but I am not sure if they cover Castaic. You can call Metro?s customer service call center at 1-800-COMMUTE and they can help you some more. Good luck!

To be honest, I would not want to live there. It gets insanely hot in the summer. Valencia is only 3 miles down I-5, so they are basically the same. Houses are cheap though
