Excellent school that stresses learning for the sake of learning and not for getting high Standardized Test scores. one son is going into 5th grade and the other son is going into 1st. PE, music, Spanish, science and reading are the extras covered at this school. They also go on 2-3 field trips every year. Greta school!

I went to this school for 7 years and there was never a moment when I was unhappy with it. This is a great school for smart kids, but if you have a child who struggles with learning they might have a hard time at this school. We have an AR program for reading and specialist where kids get to learn Spanish, Technology, PE and Science. I was very proud to go to this school, which has the highest attendance rate in the district, and the most diverse ethnic backgrounds. It has a very safe environment and a lot of great teachers. We also have uniform, which isn't very strict, and a lot of fun extra-curricular activities.

My sons attend this school. It's been a great school in academics. I had my sons in private school but I was not happy until I found this school.

Excellent School! Outstanding academic and reading program. The Administration staff and Principal are great, always on top of things and good communication with parents. Mrs. Rafferty is very responsive to phone calls, questions, etc. Having specialists for different subjects is extremely important and helpful. My husband and I feel very fortunate to have our two boys attend ILC. Parents, Sandra & Robert Camberos.

As a parent of a kindergarten student, I am pleased with the various programs offered at ILC, specially all the musical programs the children have in kindergarten. I think these are the 'extra' things that makes the school unique and different from other schools. I was very happy when my son was accepted to get into this school. Being a teacher myself, I see the importance of having the variety at programs offered at ILC, which few schools offer. I believe that the test scores themselves speak as to what kind of school ILC is. The school's morale is also seen when you walk on campus. All children are in school uniform, giving an impression of unity. I was very impressed when my son received the monthly award. The whole ceremony ran smoothly.

They have an excellent academic program. They focus on developing good readers with the Accelerated Reading program. They offer specialist in PE, Science, Computer Science, and Spanish. The PTA is very strong at this school and many parents are directly involved with the programs offered for fun and education development. Homework is stressed at this school too.

The academic program is rigorous and stems from high expectations and the belief that all students will succeed. The AR Reading proggram is especially excellent becauseit allows children to go at their own pace. The parent and family involvement is exemplary and the PTA donates amazing gifts to the students and the teachers. Each grade level has two-three field trips a year and they are geared towards whatever is being studied at the time. The school includes instruction in P.E., Science, Computers and Spannish as well as a very elite instrumental and choral program. The school has many programs regarding the arts. My child will be culminating from this school after 7 years and I couldnt be happier with his foundation of education.

intensive learning center, one of the best public elementary schools from k-6 in the area. especially if your child excels in school and gets into mrs. sue hart's class she teaches combined grade 5 & 6 classes. some call it 'pilot' class. the creme de la creme of grades 5 & 6. if you get into her class you're good as 'made'. she is actually the school's gem. but not to forget other teachers-some are masteral degree holders. i always check teachers background & qualifications. as a parent you should check this - it is important because your child spends a great deal of time with the teacher. and they imbibe and absorb teacher's way and habits that they spend time with.great school! i recommend this school if you live around bellflower, lakewood, north long beach.

Ilc is a great school! the teachers are on the same page and for the most part are pretty involved in you and your child learning. The days are long, but well worth it! We really enjoy our children attending ilc.

This is a good school for some children. But it is to Military. Just because they are in uniforms doesnt mean they should be treated like they are in the military. It was very disapointing to me that not a day went by without me leaving the school and hearing a teacher some what yell at her/his class. Quote 'how dare you all talk when your not suppose to'. Yes true they should respect their teacher. But kids need to be kids not little soilders. One great thing about this school is how they meet every morning to sing, accounments and celebrate everyones birthdays. Overall I would have to say my husband and I were very disapointed with this school.
