Montrose

It depends on your life style. If you're looking to party close by, Montrose is not the best place, it's mostly quiet by about 10pm. In that case, you'd want to live near the Sunset Strip in WeHo. If you're looking for a nice community, safe neighborhoods, and pretty surroundings, Montrose is a great place. Other similar areas: Sierra Madre, South Pasadena, parts of Pasadena, La Crescenta (next door) and La Canada. The Glendale Frwy (2) is a good freeway compared to most in LA. Foothill Bl. usually isn't bad. The 210 get slow through Pasadena during rush hour (streets are better), but it's not like the 405. Montrose-LaCrescenta has lots of families, but also enough singles. People tend to be very pleasant in Montrose / La Crescenta / La Canada. There is good shopping and lots of restaurants close by, plus the malls in Glendale. I think it's set up so that you must go through a broker. Talk to one and explain your situation. Getting through BoA's bureaucracy is not easy!

portobello's in montrose. its italian and mediterranean, but there is so much more on the menu to choose from! its fabulous! the service is awesome, the food spectacular, and the atmosphere is stunning... its so unique compared to everything else around that area...
