Is Northridge CA a dangerous place to be?

Actually the "BIG one" is more likely now to hit northern CA where I live. (The Bay Area) It's the Hayward fault line that has the most built up stress on it now and is due for a big quake pretty soon. The North-ridge fault just had a lot of energy released when the last quake hit down there in 1994. Added: The Loma Prieta hit up here back in 1989 but it was on the other major fault line. (The San Andreas) That's why the Hayward fault is now the most likely place. Go to this link to read about both quakes. What is the average house/apartment price in Northridge, CA, and how safe is the neighborhood?

Avg apartment is about $1,000 per month...maybe more depending on the neighborhood. Santa Clarita is by far the safest area, but the commute to school will be about an hour to an hour and a half. Northridge is in the San Fernando Valley. As wither EVERYWHERE else in the county, there are safer parts are worse parts. There are parts of Northridge that are VERY bad and others that are much better. Making a generalization about the whole city or the entire San Fernando Valley is unfair. You would have areas like Pacoima influencing the decision to live in Porter Ranch.

Just about any hospital has an in-patient pediatric unit and outpatient rehab services for kids. Try Northridge Hospital. Kaiser Hospital in West Hills is close to you, too. The four children's hospitals with the most beds are Children's Hospital in Hollywood, LA County+USC Hospital in Boyle Heights, Mattel Children's Hospital at UCLA, and Shriner's Hospital. You should be able to find a place to volunteer with so much to choose from.
