You're right true Christians should do all they can to be as understanding and explanatory to a person that is not as familiar with scripture or Christianity and Jesus' teachings as he/she is. The person that spoke with you in harsh terms about why his church used the KJV was wrong in his demeanor, simply because his behavior deterred you from your true purpose for being there in the first place. There is no reason why this question should have brought on such a negative attitude. A person should question the church about its doctrine, beliefs and any other thing to make a sound determination in deciphering if this is the right church to gain a concise understanding of the true teachings of Christ. Understanding of what this church's reasoning was for using certain paraphernalia is a viable question and should have been answered with a loving and understanding attitude. And as for your being damned to Hell's fire, no one should have ever said that to you, because there is but One who knows who these people will be. Yes, the good church folks should take out the log from their eyes before they attempt to take out your splinter. I also agree with you about jumping around the scriptures. The scriptures are the learning tools that were placed here for us to use to get a better understanding of who God and His Son are and what is expected of us as His children. I believe that it should be read in full context, and not bits and peices here and there. I suggest that you speak directly to the minister with your questions or find a church that actually practices what it preaches. God Bless You
