What are those closed streets on Vista del Mar just north of Imperial in Playa del Rey, CA?

In 1960 the present terminal complex and North Airfield at LAX were constructed. With two new north runways, the 1960?s saw a massive increase in air traffic at LAX. Aircraft, once driven by props were quickly being superseded by jets and the increase in noise from jet takeoffs greatly decreased the desirability of the residential areas adjoining LAX. Many homeowners, under and immediately surrounding the flightpath complained and in response, the City of Los Angeles airports department began a longstanding program of buying houses from noise-weary homeowners. In June of 1970 the forth, most northern runway was opened up. Safety and noise became a serious issue and eventually homeowners began seeking relief and sold their properties to the city. Homeowners who didn?t readily choose to sell, were forced to sell their homes at ?market value?. Today the homes are long gone. 4,500 homes were bulldozed displacing 14,000 residents. Residential properties and streets on the east side of Westchester became parking lots to service the airport and car rental operators. Properties north and west of the airport were bulldozed into the ground so that all you see now are the ghostly remains of dozens of streets that have been fenced off and closed. Left in that condition as if it were a reminder to the rest of us that we?re next, or maybe an effort to mock those who opposed it then.

What sea animal do you like best? Dolphins or seals? and Why?

I am a strong lover of the sea, and I can't really choose between two extraordinary animals like the seal and the dolphin. Well, I guess I can because the dolphin is my favourite animal. More specifically, the orca whale, which is the largest member of the dolphin family. I wish to be a marine mammal trainer when I'm older, so I would be satasfied working with either animal.

Phone company for pizza place?

They are all the same. As monopolies, they do not care about customer service. Look into one of the internet based VOIP services

SAG.org? Good agents? or bull crap?

so every actor in LA wants an agent and they are really hard to get. SAG. org lists legit agents. good agents are ones that get you lots of auditions. you have to go to each ones website and find out how to submit for representation and do that which it tells you to do. You will need an outstanding head shot and resume and a good cover letter. .

I am having trouble renting out a spare room in my apartment. Any advice?

Lower the deposit. That's usually what keeps people away, they can't afford to pay the first month and a deposit on top of that. Or lower the rent. That's really what makes people tick...the money. If you can't lower the rent or deposit, you'll just have to wait it out. Just think of it like this, for a little more money, they can get their own one bedroom apartment. Why would they want to live with roommates?

Beaches Near Sixflags Ca Help Please?

There are no beaches near six flags magic mountain. I live there, I know. You need to drive about 30-45 minutes to get to the nearest beach. If you are looking for a nice clean beach then I suggest not going to any beach in the LA area, go to the Ventura county beaches, those are beautiful and clean, you can take the 126 highway which is right next to Six Flags straight and it will lead you to another freeway which leads you to the beach! Thats about a 45 min drive. Ignore the other poster who said Californias get insulted when you say cali, I was born and raised here and have never heard anything get insulted by that term!
